The Future of In-Building Wireless

2017 Workplace Connectivity Survey

Cell Phones Have Overtaken Desk Phones for Workplace Communication

How Cell Phones Have Overtaken Desk Phones for Workplace Communication | Zinwave

Now that email and cell phones are the top office communication methods,

are you ready to support a mobile-first workforce?

In our increasingly mobile world, mobile communication tools have become the preference for most in the workforce. In a recent survey, Zinwave asked more than 1,000 U.S. workers how frequently they used specific methods of communication in the office, and the answers confirmed offered some surprising insights into the way that employees are communicating with those both in and out of the office.

  • Workers prefer to use their cell phones to make calls in the office and are increasingly leaving their desk phone on the cradle when it’s time to contact clients, partners, or vendors,
  • More than half of the respondents admitted to texting with those same contacts on a daily basis, a number comparable to desk phone usage.,
  • And 61% of Gen X responders said they are using their cell phones in the office more now than in the last year.

These weren’t the only results, but all of the data points to one thing: reliable in-building cellular connectivity is critical, and the companies who don’t provide it will be holding back their business and slowing their employees.
