James Raby is a Senior Investment Manager with SEB Venture Capital. He has spent the majority of his 25 year career within the operations and general management functions of broadcast, media and wireless services companies like NTL Broadcast (now Arqiva) and VT Communicatons within Europe and Asia , and including 5 years in the semiconductor design and manufacturing market in the US and Europe at Atmel.
He has worked extensively on Corporate M&A and Venturing during this time as well as more recently with leading Private Equity investors focusing on the telecoms and infrastructure sector around Eastern and Western Europe.

SEB Venture Capital was established as a unit with Scandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB) in 1995. With an evergreen fund of approximately 270 million Euros, the fund has currently 41 investments in the technology and healthcare sectors, and has achieved 34 successful exits since inception. With an historical focus on Nordic markets, SEB VC opened a London office in 2007 to identify investments in among other areas, the media-tech and wireless sectors.
